Stopping long-term Revlimid - what will happen?

Now reaching my 38th cycle of Revlimid (lenalidomide) treatment, I have stable numbers but a very restricted quality of life – bone pain, sternum pain, and fatigue. Of course, the Revlimid helps, but can I safely stop it?

What can I look forward to if I cease the cycles?

My daily life is ok, with painkillers getting me thru, but I am debating with myself to cease the 3 week cycles. After 5 years of multiple myeloma, I feel as if it's certain to return with or without me on this drug.

Zometa infusions ceased a year ago. My haematologist doesn't offer much.

Can someone who has ceased the treatment offer any experience / reports or outlook?

I made up my mind one week ago to stop my maintainance of Revlimid against my doctor's wishes. My numbers are good , but I'm taking a holiday until the other shoe eventually drops.

I'm in partial remission for 2 years, 0.2 g/dL m-spike and don't know if Revlimid is keeping me there or if I would be there anyway.
