Does anyone have any suggestions to help with the weight loss and how to get yourself to eat?
I keep losing weight and don't have much of an appetite. I'm on Velcade, Pomalyst and dex. This last Velcade treatment just knocked me out; I'm struggling with fatigue, have no appetite and am feeling depressed.
I was off the meds for 13 days so I could go on a vacation to visit the kids. I ate fine, got around fine. Back home and first Velcade treatment, bam!
I am going to try some protein bars and protein powder and see if that helps with the weight loss. I am open to ideas.
Thanks - Jim

If you are in a state that permits it, try some medical marijuana.

Re: How do I stop weight loss / increase appetite?
Jim,
Hi from Australia. My husband has had intermittent problems with weight loss firstly when he underwent a stem cell transplant. We knew he would drop weight so I readied myself for a weight improvement scheme. This consisted of a high fat, high calorie drink, Sustagen (I don't know if they have that where you are). It was just awful – sickly sweet and quite intolerable. So I devised my own.
As we were looking at calories and not necessarily nutrition, it consisted of about half a glass of cold milk, a BIG slurp of cream, a dessert spoon of Milo (chocolate and malt powder), a dessert spoon of malted milk, and a BIG scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was blended up with a blender until smooth and served icy cold. It isn't sickly sweet as some hospital protein drinks, but a little "treat" in an otherwise awful time. Somehow cold drinks go down better than hot (that could be because of our climate). My husband had this drink once per day and didn't lose nearly as much weight as predicted.
Now when he goes into a weight loss cycle, out comes the Milo! Even the dietician at the hospital has copied out my "Marvellous Milkshake" recipe. It's not rocket science, I guess, but to just sip this once a day and try and eat as much as you're comfortable with seems to work for my husband.
Hope this helps. Keep fighting the good fight!!

Re: How do I stop weight loss / increase appetite?
What I did for my weight loss experience was to eat high calories, protein and fat. I ate Burger King, McDonalds, KFC and others. Drank their shakes and ate anything that sounded appealing to me. Maybe it wasn't healthy, but it worked. Only had to do it for a few months until my own appetite came back.
That was nine years ago, and I'm still doing fine. Good luck to you.
I think the salt in these foods helped to make the food appealing.
