Hello,
My name is Stewart and I found this group and wanted to join. I am 64 years old and was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in June this year. Needless to say, that was the shock of a lifetime and a complete life changer. I was born and grew up in Brooklyn and have been living in Southern California since 1979. I have a wonderful wife, no an amazing wife, who has taken care of me day and night while going thru cancer treatments. I have 4 adult kids and 8 grand kids.
It's been 4 weeks since my stem cell transplant and my second birthday is November 7. The cancer has caused severe bone loss in my ilium or pelvic region, and I have not been able to walk without the help of crutches or a wheelchair. I was always a very active person and this part has been devastating for me.
I'm not sure what else to write without boring you all, but I hope I can be around to see my youngest grandkids, who are 5 and 6, go to college or get married or whatever they choose for themselves. These two live with my wife and me for 4 years now and its been the best blessing a person can have.
Anyway, I hope to meet some nice people and mutually support each other.

Re: Stewart, diagnosed with multiple myeloma this summer
Stewart,
Welcome to the group. You sound like you have a great disposition and family. I don't mean to be picky, but you are going to be 6 weeks old tomorrow, Big Boy. lol
