Stem cell transplant success likelihood based on past

Is it possible to make an educated guess based on how your myeloma reacted to RVD to how successful it will react to stem cell transplant chemo?

Hi hopeful,

Sorry if this seems picky, but what is your definition of "success"?

I ask mainly because, from your previous postings here in the forum, I recall that your mother has had a very good response to treatment so far. I think she's even achieved a complete response, perhaps even a stringent complete response.

So, in your mother's case, it's not clear that you'll see a deeper response to treatment from a stem cell transplant, unless, for example, your mother's doctor is also checking to see if your mother has minimal residual disease.
