There have been some postings here in the forum inquiring about stem cell transplant centers in India. Based on a bit of research, we've compiled a preliminary list of such centers, grouping the centers by approximate size (number of patients treated).
Please note, however, that the groupings are very, very rough, and they may not reflect the center's expertise in myeloma.
If you have been treated at one of these centers and wish to share your experience there, please feel free to do so in a posting within this thread.
If you are a representative of one of these centers (or a center that is not yet in the list), and wish to provide helpful information, please feel free to do so, but please do so in an informative way that is not purely promotional.

Thank you for the suggestion, Surbhi. We've included your suggestion in the list at the beginning of this thread.
Re: Stem cell transplant centers in India
I have been to several of these institutes listed here, including AIIMS and PGI and Appollo where I spent several years. Unfortunately, there is NOTHING going on stem cell biology, just bogus claims and false propaganda in the name of stem cell research. A quick search of the scientist in charge of these facilities will tell the truth - 98% never did any pioneering stem cell research by themself not published in any reputed journals as senior authors. I will like to know their citation index if at all anyone ever contributed anything original.
It's sad but true that in name of stem cell research these faculties are siphoning crores of ICMR / DBT / DST and other funding agencies money without producing an iota of any original work. In fact they cant ever because a vast majority never worked in stem cells or are trained in anywhere abroad in good stem cell labs. Instruments are purchased and kept unopened for years without any clear cut agenda or plan to execute any solid experiments.
Stem cell research is extremely complicated, need meticulous planning and solid expertise and training. Unfortunately there are many peoples who are milking tons of money out of this scam and produce NOTHING except making sure they purchase the best instruments and go to foreign trips without any productivity.
It's high time Government of India must scrutinize these peoples are replace them with scientist of excellence and capacity and solid record of research in stem cell biology as evident at least by peer reviewed papers.

Re: Stem cell transplant centers in India
Stem cell research and stem cell therapy are different things. Anyone aware of someone successful with a stem cell transplant for multiple myeloma at AIIMS?
