I, too, had to stay in an apartment after my transplant, which was close to home but not close enough to the hospital as they required. The initial packing included food, comfortable clothing, and shoes. I found myself in sweat pants and a Polo shirt. Something warm and easily changed in and out of for the doctor visits afterwards.
Since I am not a big daytime TV watcher, I subscribe to a service like Hulu and caught up on classic TV shows. A portable wireless device is great for having your music while sitting and being transfused. Noise canceling headphone are good for blocking outside noises when you need to sleep, or in the treatment facilities. Since you are close, remember the more you bring, the more someone else will have to bring back.
What I found very nice in our temporary housing was two bathrooms. One for me and one for the caregivers. That way the caregivers did not have use their time sanitizing the bathroom after it was used. Clean towels are important, use one then wash for you. I would bring some fragrance free laundry soap. Go through the list of things that you use daily and cross off the things that will be provided by the temporary housing facility. From kitchen to bathroom.
Rest well.
