What drug is used to get the bone marrow to release stem cells for harvesting?

Jo Anne,

You might find this article from the late Arnie Goodman to be helpful. It should answer your questions. Note that while Arnie mentions Neupogen, the drug Mozobil is often used as well these days.

Short answer: Neupogen to increase white blood cell/stem cell count. Mozibil to mobilize stem cells into the bloodstream for harvest.
