Stem cell collection without Cytoxan

by Halches on Sat Jan 02, 2016 2:20 pm

Just wondering how many of you did not have Cytoxan (cyclophosphamide) as part of their stem cell collection process.

My husband will be having Neupogen and Mozobil. This is the protocol at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC).

Hi

I didn't have Cytoxan. I continued my induction regimen, Kyprolis-Revlimid-dexamethasone (KRd), until approximately 3 weeks pre-collection. My transplant was in August 2015 at Stanford.

Best wishes,
Rhonda

Goldmine.

Just a question about Neupogen: Did they give it to you in preparation for the stem cell harvest or post transplant / recovery?

Andrew was kind enough after his stem cell collection to describe it in detail in this forum posting:

"Stem Cell Harvest - The Complete Guide" (January 24, 2014)

As you'll see, Neupogen was used prior to the stem cell harvest.

Yes, it was used prior. But as I recall, I did receive at least one or two Neupogen injections during recovery beginning at Day +6 when my white count bottomed out.

I had Neupogen prior to harvesting and a couple of time during recovery when my white cell count dropped. I've had Neupogen injections a couple of other times in the 6 years post autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT) again when my cell count dropped.

Mozobil and Neupogen only for harvest. No Cytoxan.
