When to start treatment again after complete response?
If you were in complete remission (CR), at what point did your doctor start treatment and what type of treatment?

Re: When to start treatment again after complete response?
I'm not entirely certain what you are asking here. I am in what Dr. C calls "complete remission,' two years after an autologous transplant, but I began maintenance therapy with Revlimid, 10 mg per day, 21 days on and 7 days off, about four months after the transplant. My docs tell me that they want me on it "until I relapse or the rest of my life," whichever comes first.
Is that what you are asking?
Multiple myeloma is so individual a thing that 'relapse,' if that's what you are asking about, has no set schedule; none of us can predict when we will do that.
Take me, for instance: according to the statistics, given that I"m 'high risk' and all, I should have relapsed before now and be fighting like crazy with a whole new set of medications ...and I"m not. I'm still in remission and doing fine.
Someone else might start having problems within months of their first treatments. We can't really go by statistics on this one.
Oh, I'm sure I'll relapse eventually, but in the meantime, every day is quite a gift.
