Sound frequencies to stop myeloma progression?

I have a neighbor who said he could cure diseases with sound frequencies (waves) selected to target the disease.

This neighbor gave me a CD with sounds made especially for me. I have to listen to it every day.
The goal: to boost my immune function and slow myeloma (I have a gammopathy, Stage 1, IgG kappa and a deficiency in IgA and IgM).

These waves are supposed to correct functional defects leading to pathology by sending modulating information.

Has anyone tried or heard of these frequencies?

What should I think?

Reminds me of Young Frankenstein ,.. okay ... Fronkenstine!! ... and the sweet dulcets of the violin ... Ynuuughhaaahhha!!

Or 1950's Sci-fi. Giant Pods ( body snatchers) and tones/ music ... aliens and Country Western Music,...etc.

And will it hurt to try? There is no cure, so why not try and hope?

It seems like something that couldn't hurt, but it is also something that assuredly will not help. Still, given that it didn't cost anything, it doesn't involve putting anything into one's body, and assuming other, more proven therapies aren't ignored in favor of these sound waves, then what the heck – go for it.

“This neighbor gave me a CD with sounds made especially for me.” Wow, this neighbor can put together CDs of sounds that can cure cancer and disease. This neighbor is practicing their own version of crackpot medicine with no license. Is this sound thing their own invention, or are they pushing the ideas of some other crackpot? What other crackpot ideas does this neighbor have and will try to push onto those who are easily influenced by such things? Will he or she also be push­ing and exposing views against “conventional” medicine being a scam and to stay away from it while they have all the cures and answers?

If it were me, I would tell the neighbor that I do not believe in their cure or therapy and do not want to hear any more about it. The problem with people like this is they are always looking for an audience to listen to their views and ideas and try to convert people to their thinking, almost like they are recruiting for a cult. I would shut that down right away. What could be worse is they are a scam artist who knows what they are doing.

Here where I live, in southern California, every couple of years I see a deja-vu story of a type of medical fraud make the news that will involve a doctor who practices medicine in the poor com­mun­ities of uneducated immigrants. The doctor will gain the trust of women in these com­munities, where doctors are seen as infallible pillars of the community. The doctor convinces his victims that he eats a special diet that gives his sperm healing powers. By having sex with him, it will cure their ailments and problems. There often are a large number of victims of this scam.
