Solitary bone plasmacytoma

Is a solitary bone plasmacytoma a palpable tumor? What does it look like? I am just asking out of curiosity.

I was diagnosed with a solid plasmacytoma in the left mandible last October (2015). It was inside the mandible at the TMJ. In fact, my dentist thought it was TMJ and proceeded to make a bite block for me to wear at night.

I could start seeing the swelling of the tumor in April. I could start feeling the tumor in July. I went to my doctor because the symptoms of blurred vision in my left eye, headaches and numb chin on the left side were getting worse. I walked into his office and he immediately said I had a tumor, possibly a parotid tumor. I had a CT scan which said I had a tumor in the mandible, possibly a metastasis. A plasmacytoma wasn't diagnosed until a biopsy, bone survey and lots of blood testing.

So, in answer to the question of "can you feel a plastmacytoma," I would say it depended upon where the location is. In my case, yes.
