Dr. Kapoor,
My biopsy was 9 years ago. At that time I was diagnosed with smoldering myeloma, seven years later I developed a plasmacytoma. My doctor said it was a solitary. Which I didn't think it could be labeled that if you had abnormal lab results, especially if my IgG didn't go back down.
Since radiation, my numbers have continued to slowly rise. My doctor says no treatment until my calcium or kidneys show damage. I also have autoimmune UCTD (Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease) which they believe is caused from the myeloma. My thyroid also went hypo.
I have had three bone surveys in 9 years. None have showed anything. MRI was ordered due to another issue and the lesion was found incidentally. I worry every time I have a new ache. I know not to.
Thank you all for your help.

Re: Smoldering, wondering if I am progressing
Dear Camille,
I appreciate your concern about the gradually increasing M-spike and aches. It is quite understandable why you wish to get to the bottom of this.
While these symptoms may not necessarily be related, it would be best to investigate further, as I had previously outlined, to ensure that your myeloma is under control. A frank discussion with your doctor about your concerns would be ideal under such circumstances.
