Sleeping logistics & outpatient stem cell transplants

What sort of recom­men­da­tions are there regarding spouses sleeping in the same bed while one of them is undergoing an outpatient stem cell transplant?

My wife and I shared a bed during my transplant recovery and I don't recall anyone suggesting otherwise. I think the key would be that you don't want the healthy spouse to bring a cold or flu or other such germs into the bed. There are also specific recommendations regarding intimacy during this time, but I don't think that is your question.

Thanks, Mark. I also wanted to thank you for sharing your stem cell transplant journey. I read every word, and it has provided quite a bit of comfort. I realize everyone's experience is unique, but nice to read something positive.

My hubby is at Day 0 today. He is 58 and we are also doing this outpatient. He has had no real side effects except for being somewhat tired. I am bracing for the days ahead, but hoping his initial response thus far bodes well.
