Significance of M:E ratio in myeloma

by jhorner on Wed Dec 02, 2015 3:49 pm

Hello,

I just got my bone marrow aspirate back, and it shows an M:E (Myloid / Erythrod) ratio of 9:1.

Does anyone know the significance of this in multiple myeloma if any?

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you, I did see that post and I did look at the one link that said it was "advanced myeloma" which doesn't make sense since my M-spike hasn't changed in 2 years and I have no lesions. That being said, the aspirate was hypocellular, not enough cells, and this happens with space occupying lesions. I'll know more when the biopsy comes back in a few days I suppose.

Thank you for the reference.
Best
