My husband is on Revlimid maintenance. His blood work looks good, but he is experiencing pain in both shoulders. I am wondering if this could be a side effect of Revlimid?
I have "googled' and it is not explicit. I am hoping this is not the myeloma becoming active again. The only way to know is to have some sort of imaging done, but I did want to see if anyone else who has been on Revlimid has had shoulder pain, and if it was due, or not due, to active multiple myeloma.

Yes, I have had similar shoulder pain during the Revlimid, Velcade, and dexamethasone induction and during the current 'Revlimid only' maintenance. In my case, it got to be quite painful even to lift my arms above the shoulders to change a shirt. I think this got worse after stopping the dex.
However, I had been on Lipitor (atorvastatin) to keep my cholesterol in the normal range. I was tolerating the Lipitor, by itself, for almost 20 years . I had been on Mevacor (lovastatin) for only a couple of months almost 20 years ago and it had caused a severe shoulder pain at the time. Assuming that these statin drugs cause this problem to varying degrees, after consulting my oncologist and my primary care physician, I stopped the Lipitor about 8 or 10 months ago.
Stopping the Lipitor helped almost immediately as one of the contributing factors for this shoulder pain was dropped from my drug regimen. I am convinced that my current alternate day 20 mg Revlimid is tolerable, but together with the side effects of Lipitor, it caused severe shoulder pain.
I had a routine cholesterol test recently and my cholesterol has remained unchanged (in the 165 range). Lowering the cholesterol may be a beneficial side effect of Revlimid.
