Does Shingrix mean no more valcyclovir and acyclovir?

by Jose on Tue Feb 27, 2018 10:57 pm

Does the approval and availability of the new Shingrix shingles vaccine mean we can stop taking the valcyclovir and acyclovir tablets if we've received Shingrix?

I asked my oncologist this question, and he said I would still need to take the acyclovir, because Shingrix is not 100% effective. Not really the answer I wanted to hear, it would be nice to stop taking the daily acyclovir.

Have a great day!
