Send weekly polls to all subscribers/forum members

If you send the weekly polls via email then there will be more responses and the polls will be more useful (even though they are already useful ).

Thanks for your suggestion.

Could you clarify, though, what exactly you're suggesting?

The reason we're asking is that we already include a reminder about each weekly poll in our email news alerts -- the ones that have copies of our news and opinion articles -- once or twice a week.

We also post on Facebook about the weekly poll every time a new one is posted, and usually post a reminder about the poll each Monday.

Finally, forum members who subscribe to our email digests also get the poll in their digest each time a new poll is posted.

Are you suggesting that we send out a dedicated email to all our news alert subscribers and forum members each time a new poll is posted?

If so, we will give that some thought. However, we'll admit to being a bit hesitant to do that. We feel that using the email alerts and forum membership for that purpose wouldn't really be what people expected when they signed up for the news alerts or registered for the forum.

We agree, however, that it would be good to think of ways to remind people, or make people aware, of our weekly polls. So we'll give that suggestion some thought and see if we can make a change or two to encourage more participation in the polls.

We have added a new box featuring the current weekly poll, as well as select previous polls, to the sidebar that appears on all Beacon pages.

This should encourage more participation in the polls and also make people more aware of the useful information that can be found in previous polls.

I try to repost your FB poll posts that appear in my FB newsfeed into the actual multiple myeloma related groups that I belong to so those who are not following you on FB will have a chance to see them as well. Not sure if it has garnered any additional responses for your polls, but thought it was worth doing.

Thanks Dana! We're sure what you've been doing has been helpful. And it's certainly helpful when people "like" or re-post one of our Facebook postings (or retweet one of our tweets).
