I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma at 43 on October 2011. I received chemotherapy for 6 months, then harvest stem cells and got my transplant on March 2012.
On October 2013 I had a relapse and the hematologist recommended local radiation on my spine, ribs, hips and coxxis due to intense pain, and they were able to put me back in remission.
I am now taking Revlimid and Decadron [dexamethasone] as well as getting Aredia every three months.
My specialist has expressed the interest of going for a second transplant. What are the pros and cons of getting a second transplant?
