A place for obituaries and fond memories of those who have passed away from multiple myeloma.

Samuel Joram Mokua

by Miss Terry on Wed Jun 20, 2018 5:09 am

Dad battled multiple myeloma like the fighter he was. Eight years he stood strong and unwavering. Until his diagnosis, we had never heard of multiple myeloma. Unfortunately, he lost the battle on 15th May, 2018.

This was so hard! And it is still hard. I am in denial that he didn't make it, especially with how brave he was throughout. The last three years were especially so tough on him, and it got worse towards the end. He had a myriad of health issues that never seemed to get resolved. And all through this, he never let his spirit wane. He was always giving us hope; encouraging us, and promising that he will get through it.

I celebrate this exemplary man who was my father. He will forever remain in my heart, a strong pillar to always look up to. Shine on your way papa. Dance with the angels, valiant warrior

Thank you, Laurie. Yes, we had a wonderful relationship, and that is what I miss the most. I miss speaking to him on phone (we lived in different cities), and hearing his voice.

I am very sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. My husband was diagnosed with Stage 3 at the age of 57, he is now 60. I pray for a cure with all who are fighting this battle with this wretched, evil cancer. Your dad sounded like a loving and brave man. Again I am sorry for your loss.

Hi Dale.

Sorry that my reply has taken over a year. All the same, I appreciate your message very much. It was a little difficult getting onto this forum, or anything to do with multiple myeloma, but I am here again. My dad may have left, but there are still more warriors out there fighting this dreaded disease, and so I have to stand with all of them.

A year down the road, we just celebrated the first anniversary since dad leaving. It certainly is not any easier, but I have learnt to accept it. I try to dwell on the happy memories, but sometimes I can't escape the memories of what he went through.

I pray that your husband is faring better, and I also pray the same prayer as you that a cure is found soonest. Sending you love and light.
