Salivary gland infection during treatment?

by greenrobin on Wed May 20, 2015 4:05 pm

Hi All,

My brother, who is about to start his 2nd cycle of his 5th round of CyBorD and Velcade, IgA kappa, was admitted to the hospital 3 days ago with a very high temp (103 F, 39.4 C) and a massively swollen face. It was determined by CAT scan that he has an infected salivary gland and he has been on IV antibiotics.

Has anyone heard of a connection to Zometa (he gets this once per round, and had it 3 days before fever struck), CyBorD, or Velcade to infections in glands?

Thanks, GR

greenrobin
