So my hematologist was going to put me on Revlimid, Velcade, and dexamethasone (RVD), with 10 mg Revlimid, for maintenance following my autologous stem cell transplant. He wanted to have me on 28/28 day cycle (i.e., no break in the Revlimid dosing).
However, after consulting with the hematologist who performed my stem cell transplant, they decided to put me on 21 days on, 7 days off (21/28).
Is the 21/28 day approach more common? Is there any evidence that one is better than the other?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff

Re: RVD maintenance therapy - 21/28 days, or 28/28?
Hi Jeff,
I don't know if it is any better, but I am on what appears to be the standard: 21 days on, 7 days off for Revlimid. I was not aware that there was a full-time regimen.

Re: RVD maintenance therapy - 21/28 days, or 28/28?
Jeff,
It appears your doctor is using the same protocol for maintenance that mine used for my initial myeloma treatment regimen. Doesn't it seem strange that a patient would need identical treatment after a transplant? Am I missing something or do I smell a rat?
