Rollercoaster

Well my husband had his heart caterization yesterday. Going to need a minimum of 4 stents. We actually expected they would do that while they were in there. But they were trying to minimize the effects of the dye on his kidneys.

So now we go back in a few weeks to get some work done. One of his bypassed arteries is completely blocked, and will need at least two stents to open it back up.

Labs today have his creatinine at 1.9, up from 1.7 last week. Pushing fluids to try to drive it back down, watching to make sure it doesn't get up past 2. Never really realized that he was far enough out of range to be overly concerned. Guess I need to work a little harder on my kidney function knowledge!

On a good note, the cardiologist has run all of this by his oncologist. It does give me a lot of piece of mind that they are consulting with each other on this instead of each just focusing on their own area of expertise. So I know he is in good hands, and that's the positive note.

Unfortunately trying to keep a positive spin on things is very tiring for me. But my husband has a very fragile spirit and that's part of my job to keep him looking up.

Thanks for the brain dump. Sometimes its just nice to put your thoughts on things out in cyber space on a place where no one is connected to your real world!

Cindylouise,

It sounds like you & your husband have been going through so much. I can't offer any advice but, wanted to let you know you will both be in my thoughts & prayers.

God bless you both on this journey.
