Thanks, Darnold. My oncologists pretty much go along with what I want and how I feel; my blood work (rbcs, wbcc, platelets, everything but my M-spike) is within normal limits. I've been on Revlimid, nothing else, for one year. I started at 25 mg, then 10 mg, now 5 mg. M-spike remains steady at 0.2 g/dL every 4 weeks.

I have minimal side effects and don't know whether to be more aggressive (increase Revlimid dose, add dex) or take a long holiday and see what happens.

I appreciate everybodies opinions and I know it is a personal decision I need to make.

Coach-

From what you have posted about your M-spike being stable at 0.2 g/dL, I wouldn't change anything that you are already doing. It's more important to have stable disease even with an M-spike than to reach 0.

If dex caused you problems, why add it back in if you are doing well with your current regimen of 5 mg Revlimid?

Thank you everyone that posted on my post about roid rage and my father. He is off steroids for 2 weeks now and somewhat normal again. I think Dr. Shain's post about being much more than roid rage is accurate. Thank you everyone for taking the time to post.

Hi floridagirl,

My father is about the same age and going through the same thing. It's really difficult. He has no patience, gets in a full rage within seconds if someone doesn't answer him immediately, and is just overall a completely different person.

I just found your post because I just had a horrible interaction with him and it just continuously gets worse. I'm not sure if these medications are worth it having to deal with someone so vicious all the time. My father was never an extremely patient person, but now he's just in a constant, furious rage. It's absolutely horrible.

I hope there's another solution, but I don't see one.
