Hi all, my name is Kevin, and I have multiple myeloma, which was diagnosed some 14 odd years ago. It was in the smoldering stage for around 9 years before it quickly rose to the second and third stages.
In the early early stage, I had bone pain which felt somewhat similar to flu pains, but a lot stronger, and my hematologist prescribed thalidomide. Six weeks later I suffered a mild heart attack that led to major surgery. Velcade and dexamethasone administered by subcutaneous injection took the place of thalidomide, but the body didn't tolerate it at all well. I persevered for 2 long episodes, then stopped treatment on the third as I had had enough of the poor quality of life I was living.
The protein level was down to 9 g/l (0.9 g/dl) and I had a great 6 months until the myeloma took off again. I'm now on Revlimid plus dexamethasone, which is giving me he same side effects as Velcade. Hopefully my body will learn to cope.
Has any one out there had experienced similar side effects, namely nausea, cramps, and needle-like jabs to toes and feet? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Revlimid often causes diarrhea and other GI side effects in people who take it. See this article for one possible solution that researchers have found works for many people who have the side effect:

As for the needle-like jabs you're experiencing, that sounds like peripheral neuropathy, which is a side effect of thalidomide, Velcade, and sometimes Revlimid. You should let you doctor know about it. He or she may adjust the dose of the medications you're taking, or give you something to take care of it.
