Re: Revlimid maintenance dose

Everything I have read on the subject states that 10mg or higher of Revlimid is effective as maintenance therapy and 5mg shows no better Progression Free Survival or Overall Survival than placebo. I take 10mg and I have noticed that I am much more fatigued and have abdominal cramping, but not taking Revilmid would cut my PFS and OS in half, so I must tolerate the side effects.

BobRobert,
I will be completing my induction therapy this coming January. I have been in the CRD trial for newly diagnosed patients, so have not been through a SCT. My doctor and I have been discussing maintenance therapy following the trial, and I will probably go with the Revlimid maintenance at 10mg daily, with a 21 day on, 7 day off cycle.

I am on Rev 10mg maintenance. I had BMT in Feb 2011 no M-spike detected at this point. I was on 28 days but now am on 21 days with 7 day break. I have GI issues I am trying to deal with. my friend is not on any Rev at this point but she does not have any abnormal chromosomes.

I too am trying to figure out the best course of action for my myeloma treatment. I am a 26 year old multiple myeloma patient who was diagnosed in 2007 so I will be coming up on my 7 year anniversary. I have had no stem cell transplant but am trying to decide whether to delay ScT and do maintanence Revlimid for 2-3 years. I wish there was a solid answer with our disease and I just had my stem cell harvest done so I have that in my back pocket but being only 26 and not knowing what to do BLOWS. I love my doctor in NYC and trust what his judgement is but why rush to SCT if I can do maintanence therapy for 2-3 years???
