Re: Revlimid and cramps

by bulldog32 on Sun Nov 10, 2013 7:42 am

As the good doctor stated, Tonic water is often a very good cure for cramping from Revlimid.
When I started on Revlimid, about 4 months ago, I immediatley started getting cramps, both in my calves and with my hands, with the fingers and thumbs locking up.
At our monthly Myeloma Support meetings, a fellow sufferer told me about Tonic water being a good cure for the cramping and she was right. The Tonic must have quinine in it as this is the ingredient that stops the cramps. Here in Australia, Schweppes Indian Tonic Water is the brand to get. I keep a glass -full next to my bed so as to sip if I wake at night , as well as having 1/2 a glass before I go to bed. Sometimes I also include a nip of Beefeater or Hendricks to make the recipe even better.
Cheers, and best wishes for less cramping
