Wow. That's an impressive improvement. Looks like all your numbers improved considerably and it also helped with immunoparesis (depression of your IgA and IgM).

What did your M-spike do in that same time?

Wishing you continued success with Kyprolis.

I agree with Multibilly. Nice results, powerdrivehp. Looks like your M-spike probably dropped to close to zero. Like Multibilly, I'm curious if you have your M-spike measurements.

Sounds like you were on a high dose of Kyprolis. How often did you get the infusion, and did you also take dex (and what dose)?

Also, before you were switched to the Kyprolis, were you taking just Velcade? Or Velcade plus dex? And what was your treatment before that?

Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to put your treatment into context.

I admit sometimes I forget to take Revlimid or dex once in a while. Sometimes, if I have extra Revlimid pills, I will take them in my off week (usually 3 weeks treatment, 1 week off).

I receive Kyprolis 2 times per week ( Wed & Thu) for 3 weeks, 59.4 mg. Steroids - once a week, 10 tiny pills, 40 mg. Zometa - once a month.

PowerDriveHP:

Thanks for the follow up. How have the side effects been for you when switching to high dose Kyprolis? I've read some of the interesting initial, positive results on this approach. It's obviously working in your case.

Powerdrivehp,

I'd like to know how long you have been on the Kyprolis, dex, and Pomalyst and how are you doing with side effects? If you are having side effects - did they lessen with time?

My husband has just finished his first 3 week cycle of this and it has really kicked his butt - shortness of breath and fatigue.

Velcade was worst for me – caused me a lot of problems – mostly upset stomachs after the shots. There were times I had to go in and get re-hydrated for some reason.

With Kyprolis, I have not had any problems as of yet.

Well, I have the same thing, fatigue, and shortness of breath, but I made a choice to do a few things, like listening and dancing to my favorite music – great aerobic exercise, swimming 3 times a week, getting into positive motivation. In time he will conquer fatigue, but shortness of breath is harder to conquer. You might try a breathing device that exercises the lungs and build lung strength without running. Athletes use these all the time. They are relatively inexpensive. That is what I use.

I started Kyprolis in August, 2014 - 3 weeks, September, 2014 - 3 weeks, and October, 2014 - 2 weeks, with 1 week to go for a total of 3 weeks.

I would tell everyone on this board - run, don't walk to Kyprolis. Run and get it now.

I am not a doctor, so doctor's know best.

Appreciate the follow up PowerDrive. It's always good to hear about side effects firsthand, rather than to read about a summary list in some clinical trial.

Thanks Powerdrive for sharing your experience. My mother had horrible nerve pain from Velcade and rashes from Revlimid.

She is only on Kyprolis and dex now and finished her first cycle. She has no side effects from Kyprolis (apart from high blood sugar from dexas she is diabetic).

We are concerned that this combination alone might not be good enough for her to go into (temporary) remission.
