My father was diagnosed with stage IIIA multiple myeloma IgG lambda on 21st May, 2017. At time of diagnosis, he was 57 years old, IgG 78.5, plasma cell 30%. No other issues with FISH test, but 1q gain. He did not have any pain in bone, but the density change in the 10th rib bone by x ray. Anemia, fatigue, and lung infection were the symptoms. He is on Velcade, cyclophosphamide, and dexamethasone (VCD, similar to CyBorD) treatment, with 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.
After 1st cycle, the plasma cell was reduced to 10%, IgG reduced to 48.5
Today, the multiple myeloma specialist told me that 1% of mature plasma cell in bone marrow.
Is this a very good treatment result?
My dad feels good now, but very bad diarrhea after 2nd cycle of treatment.

Re: Response to VCD (CyBorD) treatment
Time goes fast, my dada started his fourth cycle treatment since last Wednesday.
Good results from the third cycle of treatment
Plasma cell percentage down from 30% original, 1% after second therapy, and 0.5% after the third.
IgG level dropped from 78 g/L to current 16.8 g/L.
IFE still positive with IgG lambda.
After this cycle, we are considering going forward with an autologous stem cell transplant. Fingers crossed.
My dad feels good now, but very bad diarrhea after 2nd cycle of treatment. not too much side effect, only loss of appetite during the therapy.
I am translating the medical information from Chinese to English. Might not be very clear.
My father has 1q21 gain from FISH test.
Great thanks to everyone at this forum. We are getting heaps of information and getting encouraged with kind people here.
