Recovery from induction treatment

by RadiantTiger on Mon Aug 17, 2015 9:03 pm

I was diagnosed in February 2015 and did six rounds of treatment (RVD - Revlimid, Velcade, and dexamethasone).

I have been off treatment for about 5 weeks now, and I feel great! My GI issues completely resolved – no more stimulant laxatives needed. I am no longer anemic – red blood count is normal. I have no bone pain. My energy level has bounced back significantly. A little fatigue in the afternoons sometimes, but basically I feel fantastic. Okay, still a tiny bit of itching from shingles, but not bad at all.

There. I just wanted to say that. :P

Autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT) coming down the pipe in October, but I can dance, until then ...

RT

PS. I have signed on to an 8 month Qigong training starting this fall, in anticipation of quick recovery from transplant.

It is good to hear you are doing well Radiant Tiger. I also like when times are good you. Take advantage of it and get back out there and live life again.

Best wishes and thanks for the good-news update.

I am glad you found a new treatment, too, Eric.

You were diagnosed one year before me and I look for your posts and always enjoy reading them.

Wishing you the best.
