Rare dyserythropoiesis & rare small lymphoid aggregates?

by kullybunnny1 on Fri Jul 04, 2014 10:10 am

I received my results from my latest bone marrow biopsy and was told by my oncologist that my test were clean. I will meet with my multiple myeloma specialist Monday for my 100 day follow-up after my ASCT.

I'm trying to read my results on my own and have questions about the "morphology analysis".

What are rare dyserythropoiesis and rare small lymphoid aggregates? Are these just indicators of multiple myeloma?

I've attempted to research the terms but get buried in narratives.

Thanks in advance for any assistance! Kully

On a day 100 marrow, one may still see changes associated with therapy (melphalan) and reconstituting hematopoiesis. Both of these features can be reflected in your marrow results. The most important reflection of your disease status is the constellation of bone marrow plasma cells (CD138 positive cells) and measures of paraprotein (SPEP, UPEP, Ig and SFLC to assess disease status (response).

Please keep us updated.
