Questions on lab results

by Prachi Agarwal on Wed Mar 06, 2013 5:42 am

Hi,

My father is diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and below are the lab results:

TOTAL PROTEIN 10.5
ALBUMIN - 3.24
ALPHA1 - 0.26
ALPHA2 - 0.92
BETA - 5.54
GAMMA - 0.53
MYELOMA BAND M-BAND: DETECTED
M-SPIKE 4.77

He is over 65 years of age. Please suggest the possible treatment.

Hi Prachi,

Sorry to hear about your dad.

You also need to discuss the results of all the other tests that are required for diagnosis and prognosis. Please see Dr. Shain's comments on this thread on what tests are needed, including whether or not your Dad has any CRAB involvement:

Once you know all the results of the tests, there are lots of options for treatment and I suggest you read through this forum, including this thread:
