Pyruvate kinase deficiency & multiple myeloma?

Hi:

My name is Elfriede and I live in Berlin (Germany). I am 57 years old and married to my husband Hardy for 32 years. Our household is completed by our sweet tom cat Micky. Micky is from American descent because we have gotten him when we have lived in Washington D.C. 10 years ago.

My written English is a bit frozen, so I apologize for that.

I have been diagnosed with multiple myeloma last February after I visited my doctors office for my regualary six month check up. My blood counts were very low and after a bone marrow biopsy I got the diagnosis multiple myeloma.

In additional I have pyruvate kinase deficiency - a very rare inherited blood disorder, which causes anemia.

My question is: Is here anyone in the forum who is in the same condition? Please contact me to share experiences and discuss treatment options.

How are you now? My husbands PK is low as well bit I thought that it was a good thing. How is your multiple myeloma now? My husband's is stable bit his M-spike is going slowly higher.

It is great that your husband is doing well.

My pyruvate kinase deficiency is doing relatively well. But I have got a cancer in my head. The surgery was in October. It is a very hard time with radiation and chemo after stem cell transplantation against myeloma in last May.
