Proteolytic enzymes with Mulitple Myeloma

by jk60 on Mon Feb 04, 2013 6:28 pm

Interested in finding out if anyone takes proteolytic enzymes as part of their treatment. If so, how much do you take and have you noticed any side effects? Also, is anyone using a cancer nutritionist to assist with supplements and diet that can minimize the side effects of treatment?

My Mom had been on proteolytic enzymes (Megazyme Forte) for the first couple years after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma. She currently has been off them, taking a break.
She took them regardless of being on conventional treatment or not.
We wondered sometimes if she might have had some diarrhea from them? So we would cut back. But, she was on many supplements, so sometimes it was hard to determine what it might be, so we would do different trials, stopping all, adding back in. Still never determined if diarrhea was definitely related to the enzymes or not.
