Over the last 9 months, my husband has received a variety of treatment - Revlimid / dex, Cytoxan [cyclophosphamide] / dex, Velcade / dex, and now Pomalyst / dex. He has battled low platelets and hemoglobin on and off since the Cytoxan / dex. Recently, he has needed platelets as many times as twice a week. Today his white count was low as well, so he is doing Neupogen injections until Friday.
My question is: "Is this normal"?
I know that everyone is different, but we are kind of grasping at straws to find something that will work. We are going to push for a second transplant. However, they are hesitant because he only got a year and a half remission out of his first one.
We have always said, "We're good as long as we have options". We feel like we are running out of those options.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom?
