polyclonal cells significance in determing level of remissio
I received the results of my bone marrow biopsy requested by my multiple myeloma specialist to determine what level of remission I‘ve achieved. I’ve had a 0 m spike and normal K/L ratio for the past 6 months. IGG etc. have been slightly below normal. My bone marrow shows “no plasma cell dyscrasia” and my Fish shows “no monoclonal B cells or aberrant T cell phenotypes”. I know that is great. However it shows “very small percentage of polyclonal plasma cells”. I‘ve researched articles and I am left to understand for stringent complete remission it must show no clonal cells. I am assuming that means both mono and polyclonal cells. I read a post by a multiple myeloma patient who said stringent remission means no monoclonal (not polyclonal) cells. I will see my oncologist is 2 months but until then can someone shed some light on this subject. Does having polyclonal cells have significance? Any input on this subject will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Multibilly, I knew I had read something about polyclonal cells/ as it relates to remission. But the other articles I had read referred to no clonal cells present so I was confused. I think it's time for me to CELEBRATE.
