Sue I'm so sorry to hear about the problems your partner is having.

I don't know if this will help, but I will mention it just in case. There is a woman from Germany who has posted before here, her name is Caro. Her partner went through something similar to what your partner is going through. They ended up trying pomalidomide for his condition and it worked for him. You probably know that pomalidomide is not yet approved by the FDA so it may not be easy for your partner to be treated with it. Maybe your doctors can look into it or you can call Celgene the company researching the drug to see if they can help.

Just wanted to let you know that it wasn't possible to get further treatment for my partner and he deteriorated so quickly that he died on 19 July. My heart is breaking and I miss him so much. It all happened so fast and it still doesn't seem real. Sue

Sue,

I am so, so sorry to hear this news. I wish there had been something that could have been done for your partner.

No matter how much progress has been made in treating multiple myeloma over the past 10 or 15 years, it still is a very deadly disease. I had hoped a solution could be found so that your partner would be able to be with you longer. I am saddened to hear that wasn't the case.

The fact that your heart is breaking right now means that you were able to spend some of your life with someone who was very special and cared about you a lot. Not everyone is so lucky. You have every right to be sad about what has happened. Still, when you can, remember that the reason you are sad is that you were lucky to have had someone who cared about you so much.
