Physician in Michigan for father with MGUS?

My father was diagnosed with MGUS in 1996 Since then he is just getting infusions. He frequently gets pneumonia and is given Cipro. We don't know where to go or what to do. He is frustrated and sick all the time. Need a good recommendation in Michigan, Lansing, Michigan OR anywhere. I will drive him anywhere.

We are in Kalamazoo. our local oncologist treats my husband, but it is under the guidance of Mayo. I know another lady in town that goes to The University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor. I would very much recommend them.

I am in Kalamazoo also (diagnosed in July, scheduled for Stem Cell transplant at Mayo Rochester Jan 31).

I have been very pleased with my Doc at the West Michigan Cancer Center in Kalamazoo. He has a good relationship with the Mayo folks. You definitely want someone at Mayo or U of M running the show - this is too complex for most general practice med oncs. I'd look for an oncologist at MSU or in the LAN community that will work effectively work with one of the big medical centers.
