A place for obituaries and fond memories of those who have passed away from multiple myeloma.

Paul Heyligers

by Sharyn on Fri Jan 06, 2017 2:28 pm

My beautiful, strong, courageous and gentle husband passed away from the awful disease on the 31 December, 2016.

Paul was diagnosed in June 2009 and endured multiple surgeries to insert metal into his body for stabilization, countless blood tests and scans, radiation, chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, shingles twice, pneumonia twice, neuropathy in his feet and hands, so many pills he rattled, and so much pain, but my brave man never complained and fought his hardest.

Paul did not lose the fight against multiple myeloma, he won as he is no longer in pain.

Fly high, my darling, till we meet again.

Please accept my condolences on your husband's passing, Sharyn. I am sorry that he had to go through so much as a result of the disease. I hope that you and everyone else close to Paul are doing as best as one could hope under the circumstances, and that you have lots of good memories of Paul to hold on to.

Please accept our condolences. I read something today that I thought was beautiful:

"Missing someone gets easier everyday. Because even though it is one day further from the last time you saw each other, it is one day closer to the next time you will."

You are in our thoughts and prayers.
