My mother, Patrician M Johnson, passed away from this treacherous cancer on February 7, 2014. She fought bravely and humorously for five years and lived her life on her own terms right up until the end.
I'm extremely proud of my mother for waging her battle against multiple myeloma (which she called M&Ms) with such panache and incredibly thankful to all of the wonderful, smart, and generous people of the Beacon. As my mother's care partner, I thank you all for your courage, your wisdom, and for just being here when I needed you. Fight on--there will be a cure!

Dear Ycrunk,
No, my mom was never a school teacher in Memphis, TN. She was a social worker who did her best work with children and worked in private practice and for the New Orleans Public School system for many years.
Thank you asking!
Best,
Kore
