I just finished my third week of treatment with Kyprolis (carfilzomib), cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan), and dexamethasone. Treatments are Tuesday and Wednesday, I feel okay Thursday during the day, but by evening the pain starts and lasts all day Friday and into Saturday, it gets better through Sunday, and by Monday it's gone.
I feel like I am bruised, so anything that touches me is painful. Just lying on the bed hurts. Seems to be mostly in my torso; my legs and arms are not affected as much. I told my doctor, but he didn't seem to know why this would happen. It has been worse with each treatment.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Pain after Kyprolis, Cytoxan, and dex treatment
Hi Janice:
If you said it was fatigue and feeling lousy, the timing sounds like the crash part of the dex. On Kyprolis, Revlimid, and dexamethasone consolidation, my wife had some of the shortness of breath from the Kyprolis (passed quickly), and the dexamethasone crash.
As to the pain aspect of it, it does not sound like one of the common reactions. Are they giving you anything for the pain, and has it helped?
Good luck to you.
