I had my stem cell transplant at the end of March. I was told no eating at restaurants for 100 days. I lived more than 30 minutes from the treatment center and stayed at Hope Lodge. I only had to stay there for 2 weeks, but I relied on a lot of microwaveable meals. Just have to make sure they are heated thoroughly.
I also spent 4 days in the hospital due to a high fever, and they wouldn't even let me have any cafeteria food. I had to eat crackers and juice. Don't be surprised if you don't really have much of an appetite those first few weeks anyway and a lot of things just won't taste very appetizing.
Good luck with your transplant and wishing you a speedy recovery.
