Hi,
So my IgG was 523 mg/dL, IgA was 82, and IgM was 57 on my last complete test. I was classified last year as stage 2 multiple myeloma (IgG lambda) by ISS protocol. I have had an ongoing sinus infection for over 2 years with 3 debridement surgeries, multiple courses of antibiotics and steroids and about 60 visits to ENT doctors for endoscopies to clean out sinuses. I do saline irrigations several times a day at home.. My last cultures show P. aeruginosa and 2 fungi. I don't know who is more frustrated, me or the ENT docs, with this never ending infection.
It's time for something else, but I don't which direction to go.
Thanks, Kay

Re: Ongoing sinus infection - any advice?
Sorry you are dealing with this. If you have stage II myeloma are you doing treatment?
I had sinus issues, but once I started treatment and my immune system recovered, it was not as bad (just the odd sinus or ear infection after a cold now).
I have read that fungal infections are really hard to clear in the sinus. Maybe look for a doctor who will treat that? Have you tried any long term antifungal meds?
Mine was bacterial so for a while I just took antibiotics a few times a week as a preventative even thought I did not have an active infection.

Re: Ongoing sinus infection - any advice?
I had a sinus infection for over a year before my GP brought it to my attention that this was not normal and I need to do something about it. This is what eventually led to the discovery I had myeloma. But the surgery improved the air flow in my sinuses, and drug treatment my ENT did fixed my sinus problems the first time, thankfully.
I wish I had some good advice for you, but I do not know what else you can do. I hope you find some relief from your sinus problems.
