I am interested in hearing from anyone who may have experience working with the Ohio State Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
My current oncologist is part of the University Hospital Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and I am considering seeking a second opinion and have heard promising things about The James at OSU. I'd appreciate any information that can be shared.

Re: Ohio State - James Cancer Center - experiences?
Hi Susie,
My comments might not help a whole lot, since my father-in-law was treated at The Ohio State University (OSU) - James Cancer Center for esophagus cancer. But I wanted to share that he received excellent treatment there, from radiation to chemo to surgery. My in-laws developed a very strong bond with staff at The James.
Esophagus cancer has a very low survival rate, but he beat it. My in-laws were so committed to receiving follow-up treatment there (even 10+ years later) that when their health deteriorated due to normal aging processes, we could not convince them to move to Michigan to be closer to their children (no children lived in Ohio). Only after they both experienced major health crises did they finally move back.
Best wishes,
Chris M.

It's a new, huge, state of the art facility with a truly comprehensive patient-focused culture.
They do multiple myeloma research and trials there as well.
Best,
Steve

I think Ohio State has also been involved in participating in some of the CAR-T trials.
I did my residency in emergency medicine at Ohio State. I'm a buckeye at heart. The medical institution there is top notch. I wouldn't hesitate to be a cancer patient there.

You are correct, Tracy. Myeloma specialists at The James are doing research in the areas of CAR-T and PD-1.
