Hello all,
Figured I would introduce myself. My name is Jesse. I'm 31 and was diagnosed after crushing a vertebrae while running. I was then hospitalized for high calcium and dehydration twice before starting radiation/chemo. I have no M markers so to check it they rely on the biopsy results and blood results.
I did the stem cell transplant (my own cells) and have been in remission for about 6 months. I go for the 6 month biopsy in a few weeks. My back is permanently damaged, and I have places on my midsection that have no feeling as a result.
I have spent 11 years in the Marine Corps and am a Staff Sgt. I have worked as both a police officer and a sheriff's deputy. My passion is cars and have recently turned in my gun & badge for the wrench and busted knuckles. I'm married with no kids.
I take maintenance Revlimid daily, which I HATE. I am strong willed, but am struggling with the changes in my body. I feel like I have a different body after transplant; makes running and weightlifting interesting!
I really don't know what else to say. I wish I could get into some of those trials. One would think that with my general health and athletic background it could be beneficial to them! Haha! I guess that's all folks.

Re: Noob right here
Jesse,
Welcome (unfortunately) to the forum! I understood your acronym (new bee as in a newly diagnosed) as I retired after a 26 year military career myself.
It's tough, this new normal. I was diagnosed after hurting my back and ended up with countless lytic lesions and 11 compression fractures. I had kyphoplasty, a stem cell transplant and had a very good partial response to the procedure.
I saw your other post, yes there are some in their 30s in the forum. I was also very active and now walk with a cane but as I stated before, this is now my new normal.
Stay positive, this forum is full of positive individuals!
Thank you for your service!
