I used to chew tobacco when in college and really enjoyed the buzz/energy I got from it. In a 6-7 year period I did it 2-3 times a day. (not in public!!). It really helped me stay up late to study.
Anyway, about 6 months ago, I started chewing nicotine gum. My multiple myeloma specialist said he saw nothing wrong with it. Use it moderately and be aware that it is addictive etc.
Since health issues with cigarettes and chewing tobacco are mostly due to other features of tobacco, or the stuff added to it, I figure it's ok for me to continue with nicotine gum.
Since one of the largest features of multiple myeloma is fatigue, it's nice to get a little boost after lunch or after dinner.
From what I've read, nicotine is the addictive aspect to tobacco, but it is not the carcinogenic part of tobacco.
Anybody have any thoughts, knowledge or experiences with nicotine gum?
Thanks, Stann
