I'd like to add another perspective. After being in complete remission for more than 2 years, I had the M-spike return in June of 2012 at a very very low level. It has been creeping up incrementally ever since, as have my lambda light chains. I would be considered MGUS at this point.
I was on Revlimid at a maintenance drug at the time the M-spike returned. As I've noted in other postings, I had a hard time with it. My oncologist took me off of it a year ago and let my blood counts stabilize. We are in watch and wait mode. Unless the guidelines change, I won't be taking meds again until my blood work says I'm back in full myeloma status. While I still tire easily, I feel a lot better than I did while on Revlimid. There is something to be said for quality of life.
