Of course anyone diagnosed with this "problem" is confused and scared. Just going into a cancer hospital to get blood work done is scary.
I have been diagnosed with MGUS. I am a 74 yr old grandmother -- active and no pains. A skin rash brought me to a doctor who recommended a protein electrophoresis blood test .
I have an IgM of 270 g/dL, IgG of 641 g/dL, IgE 205 kU/L. Total protein is 7.2 g/dL With kappa light chain specificity. Serum kappa was 6.64, lambda 9.51, RF. 12.4.
What can I do to prevent any further progression of the MGUS to multiple myeloma?
Thank you ,
Judy

Re: New to MGUS - what to do to prevent progression?
You may want to look at TAB's reply in this thread. Note that with this regiment, it can take upwards of a couple of years to see an effect on one's numbers.
