Re: New strain of myeloma due to stem cell transplant?
Yes, I’m also very interested to know the answer that question. In my understanding, the exact answer can be obtained only if you stop Empliciti and do the lab in a month or two. If that IgG M-spike still will be present, that means it is due to multiple myeloma and not Empliciti. But I hope it will disappear.

Re: New strain of myeloma due to stem cell transplant?
My FISH results from my bone marrow biopsy after 7 years of treatment had no resemblance to my original bone marrow biopsy results. All my mid- to high-risk chromosome changes were no longer seen. My myeloma specialist said the treatment knocked out those clones and now I have different clones.

Re: New strain of myeloma due to stem cell transplant?
My apologies for the late reply to your question, Multibilly.
My oncologist told me that when I was first diagnosed back in March, 2015, I also had a very faint M-spike matching the current one. It disappeared after a time and has come back.
