New bone lesion & lesion growth during initial treatment

by Calal on Fri Mar 24, 2017 7:37 pm

My 48 year-old husband has just completed 4 cycles of cyclophosphamide, Velcade, and dexamethasone (CyBorD). His blood work looks great and has since finishing his 2nd cycle.

In follow up to finishing his induction therapy and in preparation to consider an autologous transplant, he was sent for a repeat skeletal survey. Many of his bone lesions have improved (his only symptoms), but 4 bone lesions have expanded and he has one new bone lesion.

He is now being scheduled for a PET scan.

I'm wondering what to expect going forward, especially in terms of outcomes, given what has happened with the lesions.

We are expecting more cycles of treatment but are still hopeful it may not be anything and he can move onto transplant without more treatment. Are those expectations reasonable?

Thanks in advance.
