Hi everyone.
I am worried because I have MGUS. So I looked for a doctor of alternative medicine indicated to me a Chinese medicine naltrexone (LDN) in low doses.
I'm taking because the drug has no contraindications if used at low doses. Increases immunity and regulates the blood system.
Have you heard about this medication?

My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2010 and we were told it was hopeless and that she should get her affairs in order. I researched the regimens of long term survivors of late stage cancer and LDN kept showing up so I found a naturopathic doctor that would prescribe it and my mother is still alive and still in remission. I can't say for certain if it is the LDN and vitamin therapy or if was just good medicine, but she only took Tarceva long enough to shrink her tumors so she could qualify for surgery, so personally believe it was the low dose naltodextrine that staved off the cancer.
That being said, my research showed that this drug is only useful on andenocarcinoma which is the prevalant type of tumor found in many deadly cancers such as esophogeal, throat, lung. I have not heard that it works as a mechanism in treating any other types of cancer so I appreciate your post and look forward to hearing more!

My homeopath is recommending that I try low dose naltrexone (LDN) for my smoldering multiple myeloma. Am wondering if anyone has had experience with it.

I take it. Higher doses are used for drug addicts. Low dose helps the immune system. It has shown improvements with multiple myeloma. Not a cure though.
Can't get it thru a regular pharmacy as low dose is not profitable, can only get it through a specialty pharmacy. Not covered by insurance as low dose as FDA approved at only higher doses. Costs around $45 a month.
I get it thru a doctor. So not just ND can prescribe it, any doctor can if they desire too.

This is a topic that also interests me. I'd also like to know whether low-dose naltrexone (LDN) can be of any help against multiple myeloma.
There is nothing else they can give me because of side effects. I'm doing fairly well at stage 2. Neuropathy is the biggest problem. The naltrexone is 3-4.5 mg and has to be done at a compound pharmacy.
No chemo for over a year now. No idea where my kappa is. Last time I checked (one year ago?) it was climbing. Was at 900. No radiation done because kappa would not get low enough to do bone marrow. Vertebrae were doctored with kyphoplasty.
All input appreciated . Thank you.
